The Associated Press is reporting that six people died in northwestern Spain when a auto sped off the road and into a crowd of spectators watching a vehicle rally.

A pregnant woman is thought to be one of the people who died, ITV News reported.

The Civil Guard could not be reached for comment.

At least 10 people, including three children were also injured in the incident.

Spain’s state Higher Sports Council said in a Twitter message that it “deeply regrets the accident in the A Coruna Rally”.

Local media reported that the driver and co-driver were unharmed, although the police spokesman was unable to confirm that information.

The Rally de A Coruna is a part of the Galician Championship and draws thousands of fans to the streets of Coruna every year.

The rally was suspended after the incident.

The incident happened in Spain’s north-western region of Galicia
