smart watchAccording to a recent report out of Android wearable technology sources, Google (NASDAQ:GOOG) is all ready to launch a set of new features with their first big update for wearables coming up soon. If reports are to be believed, this upcoming update will contain various bug fixes along with all new Wi-fi support and some gesture control features to smoothen the Android wearable experience even further.

With the addition of Wi-fi support, Android wearable tech devices will now be able to work with notifications and other features like Google Now and fitness related applications even without the presence of a bluetooth connection. Most of the Android wearable devices available in the market already have in-built Wi-fi and this new update should activate the new feature instantly.

Apart from Wi-fi support, Google also intends to add a few other features including gesture support for wearable devices. Users will now be able to scroll through notifications just by a gesture as simple as flicking their wrists. This is believed to make things a lot simple for users as it eliminates the task of pinching or scrolling over the small screen to go through different notifications. Other features include tweaks that will make it simpler for the user to go along with different Android applications on  their devices. Browsing through contacts and calendar applications is supposed to get a bit smoother too.

Although no official dates have been announced yet, the update is expected to hit the devices pretty  soon.
