Arabian TerroristThe American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC) has expressed their concerns that the movie, released this month, “American Sniper”, has caused an increase in violence towards Muslims.

The movie, directed by Clint Eastwood, is a true story that takes place during the Iraq war and involves the life of American Sniper, Chris Kyle, played by Bradley Cooper.

“A majority of the violent threats we have seen over the past few days are (a) result of how Arab and Muslims are depicted in American Sniper,” ADC president Samer Khalaf said.

The ADC has sent their concerns to the local police as well as the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) according to sources. The organization is concerned that their communities are not safe due to a direct result of the violence against Muslims that the movie portrays. The ADC has gone as far as also contacting Eastwood and Cooper.

“Your visibility, influence, and connections to the film would be a tremendous force in drawing attention to and lessening the serious dangers facing the respective communities,” Khalaf said.

The concerns are rising due to the ADC receiving numerous threats through social media after viewers watch ‘American Sniper’.

The movie has merited six Oscar nominations for Best Picture at the Academy Awards and has generated a heated discussion over the position of Iraq and the portrayal of veterans.
